Ottawa born and raised, John first studied theatre at the University of Ottawa, and continued his education in the acting program at Studio 58 (Langara College) in Vancouver, BC. Today he works mostly as a designer.
He is mostly self-taught as a designer, but learned much of his craft working alongside wonderful designers such as Yvan Morrissette, Bryan Pollock, Julie Giroux and Ivo Valentik.
He has designed for over 30 productions, and in many cases he builds and paints his own sets.

Originaire d'Ottawa, John a étudié le théâtre à l'Université d'Ottawa et ensuite en interprétation à Studio 58 (Collège Langara à Vancouver, C.-B.). Aujourd'hui il se consacre principalement à son travail scénographique.
Il est surtout un concepteur autodidacte, mais il a beaucoup appris en travaillant avec des concepteurs inspirants comme Yvan Morrissette, Bryan Pollock, Julie Giroux et Ivo Valentik.
Il a conçu plus d'une trentaine de décors, et dans plusieurs des cas, il construit et patine ses décors.
